祇園祭り

祇園祭行きたい。7月の一ヶ月ずっと祭りらしいけど宵宮とかメインは14〜16日らしいから最後のこの京都の近くに住んでるチャンスをフル活用したい。

"訳の分からない"力

最近日経ビジネスオンラインでこんな記事を読んだ。

生活保護を受ける人の数がここ最近増えているという。毎年の統計によると、年々自殺者は増え、その中でも生活保護を受けている人達の人数が他に比べて多いらしい。生活保護を受けているので不自由はあるかもしれないが、最低限暮らしていく、生きていくことは出来るのになぜか…そのことについて調査した人がいて、彼らは…


"どうしても働きたい、って必死に仕事を探すんだよ。仕事ができないっていうのは、『お前は生きている意味がない』って、社会から言われているような気持ちにさせるんだよね"


何かわかる気がする。やるべきことがある、仕事があるというのは人間が生きて行く上で、とても重要なんじゃないかと思う。もちろん仕事は生活するために必要なお金のためだという考えも当然だとは思うが、それだけではない、精神的な、人間的な何かがそこにはあるんだろう。社会から孤立せずに、自分もその一員でいられる。誰かに必要とされる。人とのつながりが自分の周りに絶えずある。笑ったり悩んだり単調ではない日々がある。


仕事の意味を問い続けていくと、哲学の話みたいになるが人間は何のために生きているのかという疑問に到達する。


今自分が無職で日々、自分の部屋でテレビを見たりネットをしたりして毎日を過ごしているこの状況の中で「働くこと」とは「仕事」とは何かについて考える機会が増えている。実際自分も上記の生活保護を受けている人とある意味同じ立場にいるのだろう。唯一感じるのが、今までの会社勤めで何かあった時のためのお金として貯金してきたその余裕というものがあるので、気持ち的にもそこまで深刻に悩んだりはしていない。しかし、もし自分もこの貯金が無く、年齢も40や50代であれば切羽詰まって不安から自殺する人たちの気持ちのようなものを感じている可能性は高いんじゃないか。


人との関わりは時に、自分を悩ませる要因になることもあるが、無くてはならない人間活動の一部だと実感する。人との接触の無い生活はあたかも自分が誰にも認識されず、社会から取り残された存在、存在すらも忘れられているかのように感じられる。そこに自分の生きている意味が何なのか、何のために生きているのかという疑問が生まれて結局、その意味がわからない、無いのではと思い自殺に至るケースがあるんじゃないかと思う。


こんな考えはネガティブかと自分でも思うが、真実なんだろう。その真実とどう向き合うかは、自分次第。私の場合、とにかく誰かと話す時間を増やす。家族でも友達でもネット上の架空の友達だって良いはず。そして部屋にこもらないこと。
一番重要なのが気の持ちようだろう。とにかくポジティブ思考を心がけているのでこんな考えでこれからも行きたいと思っている。


20代後半の女性という条件の自分はもうすぐ結婚する。子供も近い将来できるだろうから、仕事に専念できるのはあと、長くて7年くらい。もしかすると2・3年の場合も可能性的には低くない。そうなってくると人生の長いスパンの中のたった2・3年のことでくよくよ悩んでいること自体がバカらしく感じられてくるので、仕事という概念自体が軽いものなんだろう、と。残された全力投球の仕事の時間をいかに楽しめるか、自分のやりたいことをこの数年のうちに実現するために今だけ必死になれば良い。というようにこれから長く苦しい仕事という苦労が待っているという考えを捨て、自己実現、自己満足の時間だという楽天的な考えにシフトすると気持ちがスーっと軽くなる。会社での仕事も午後5時の「まだ2時間もある」より「あと2時間で仕事が終わる」のほうが気持ちが楽だ。よくわからない例えだけれど、先にある全体的な長い時間を見るのではなく、集中した短い時間だけに目をやれば自然と気持ちの持ちようは変えることが出来るのでは?(私の場合そうなように)ということが言いたい。


最初の問題定義とは話が外れたが、暗くジメジメした考えでは決まる仕事も決まらない。明るく、あっけらかんとしていたほうが前述の生活保護を受けている人の就職率も高まり、自殺者も減少するということの助けになると信じている。病は気から。自分の考え方次第でどうにでも自分自身を、人生を変えることは出来る。

it's been a while

Such a long time has passed since my last update for Hipster.
Finally I could come back to here to leave some article about what is going on my life now.
Here is the short term of what i have been deal with and what i had done these days...

- came back on 25th of May arrival in KIX
- had to suffer from bad cold from extremely dried airplane for 2 days
-28th of May, Tamayo wedding ceremony still with my cold
-visiting my cousin in Miyazaki on 29th of May for 1 week
-fly back to Osaka direct to Okayama
-some labor work
-back in osaka 11th of June
-Resume, Work experience, Self-PR
-almost 20 companies to apply

On the other side of my ordinary life, I had to deal with bug problem since it's getting hot summer what is called hotbed for roaches! Do not open front door, even window if you don't have net! is what i learnt.

N.Y.C. RELATIONSHIPS / Dazeworld

New York is a strange place to look for and find love. I'm sure I'm not saying anything that many already don't know but this city is such an insane conglomeration(雑多な寄せ集め) of personalities from all over the country and all over the world, that many have a hard time finding "the one". If that shit even exists. Such diversity within one city is something about this place that you can applaud but in a weird way it also makes things more difficult. New york is the type of place where it's all about choices. Other cities wait for things to jump off which, if they're lucky, happen on a monthly basis. Here on any given day or night tons of things happen. Therefore one is forced to make decisions. The same can be said for relationships here. Because their are so many people from all over the place, here it's very difficult to focus on "the one", because another "one" may be right around the corner.

I'll tell you what though, New York is one city that can and will break your heart in half and hand you the pieces, that's for sure! Just when you think you've found the best piece in the world... Boom!! Reality check! You discover that person has several other "persons" on the side and suddenly you're left feeling like the last man standing. Don't sleep! This can and will happen to you if you let it! Still I love being here. It's the only place in the world for me that I can leave my house and fall in love at least 12 times before making it to the subway, especially during the summer!

日本でもアメリカでも商品がセールになることは滅多になく、だいたい高い。夏・冬セールとかあんま関係ないからアウトレットなら本当にお得かも。そこまで安くはなってないけど全体的に20%くらいは安いような気がする…店の感じはそこらへんのアメアパと同じ。

日本では値段が高いのであんま行ったことなかったけど、フォーマル過ぎずカジュアル過ぎず、デザインも凝ってて良かった。日頃から人気で質も良いのでお客さんはかなり多く、お店自体も他にくらべるとかなりスペースを広くとってた。レジでは列が出来て10個ぐらいレジスターあるのに5分くらい待った。

高級感あふれる感じだけど品揃えは一昔前のイメージ。あまり欲しいものは見当たらない。

結構広いお店で商品も床から天井までびっしり。男性ものが多く、お父さんやおじいちゃんとかおじさんへのお土産には最適。ポロシャツで$45くらいだったかな…　一部だけだけど$10くらいのラックがあって、Lacosteとは思えない陳列の仕方でそこらへんのデパートかと思った。でも全体的に合格点

朝一番にチェックして1時くらいに商品を購入しに戻ったところ、入場制限!5分くらい列に並んで待った。このブランドは本当に好き。デザインも良いしシンプル。日本人が好きそう。アメリカでも人気のブランド。

ここだけは絶対ミスれない。開店してから20分くらい後に行ったけどすでに入場制限!10分くらいはかかった。中国系富裕層の人たちが信じられない数のバッグやら財布やらを凄いスピードで買って行く。それに対応する店の店員の数も凄いけど品揃えもボリューム満点。値段がまた信じられない。店に入るとみんなもらえる30%OFFのチケットで、購買力倍増。

ニューヨークのポートオーソリティー駅からバスが出てます。
一時間ごと、朝は30分ごとに出発。普通の観光バスみたいなものでSHORT LINE、 GRAY LINEと2社あって、ポートオーソリティー駅に着いた時間に合う方のチケット買えばOK。

リサーチの結果、10時開店のアウトレットだけど昼ぐらいになったら人でいっぱいになるから午前が勝負!ってあったので
NYCポートオーソリティー8:30am発のバスに乗ることにした。

早めに起きて30分くらいで着くポートオーソリティーだけど1時間前に家を出た…ところが、そこまで行く電車でかなり時間を費やした。というのも週末の電車はかなり適当で、時間通りに来ることなんてない(というか時刻表なんてもちろんない)し、特に朝になるといくらまっても電車が来ないことなんてざらにあるみたいで、ちょうどそれにひっかかった。

プラットホームで日曜の朝7:30に立ち往生。かなり音がもれてるヘッドフォンの女性とかでっかいシェパード犬みたいなのをつれた警察官やらマラソン大会のゼッケンをつけた子供をつれたお父さんやちょっと怪しい人とかいろんな人がまだかまだかと電車をまってた。

ようやく30分後くらいに電車が来て、8:30amのバスに乗る事を諦めたけどもしかしての可能性もあるのでもう一度駅についた時のシュミレーションを頭で。

かなりギリな感じだけどなんとか8分前到着! ところがまたこのポートオーソリティー駅ってゆうのはいろんな線が集まるところで、信じられないくらい大きい。チケット売り場は2F　でも今自分が何階にいるのかがまずわかりにくい。
そこらへんにいる人をつかまえて確認して猛ダッシュした。チケットは往復$42!　カウンターが2つあってWOODBURY…って書いてあるから簡単に見つけられた。窓口でチケット購入! ここで気をつけるのはチケットはキャッシュのみ。

そして310番乗り場へ!この乗り場も窓口でどこに行けば良いの!?って再確認して少しでも探す時間を省略。
他の客もかなり焦ってたけどみんな、なんとかバスに乗れた。

約1時間(女性ドライバーがかなりのスピードを出していたので正確には50分くらい)で現地に到着!!

4月中旬だけど朝、夜は冷え込むので着いたときもかなり寒く、店はまだ開店してないのでバスの待合所で待機。

みんなが知ってるそのブランドとは…"COACH"
日本に来ていたアメリカ人が普通にCOACHのバッグとかを持ってて、やっぱりアメリカ産だけあって、現地ではそんなに高いってゆうイメージは無いし、お手頃な感覚だから誰でも持っているとか持っていないとか。
とにかく現地で買うと税が多くかからない＋今は円高なのでさらにお得感倍増!!

そしてさらに、そんなブランド品の安さに輪をかけてプライスダウンなのがアウトレット。
ニューヨークに一番近くて有名なのがWOODBURY COMMON PREMIUM OUTLETS

滞在の間に絶対に行こうと決めていたのでお土産を買いに4月17日に行った。
規模が大きいのと、店の数が半端無いので事前に確実に見たい店をリサーチして、時間がなくなったときのためのプランも立てて、計画万全にした。

ネットでVIPにサインイン(無料)したら、買い物した総額から20%OFFになるクーポンが手に入るということなのですぐにサインインしてクーポンを印刷。

行き方も地図も手にいれて準備完了!!

UNBEARABLE

インターンシップ先のオフィススペースの隣にセールス部門のスペースがある。
アレックとディリアってゆう2人と時たまいろんなインターンが来て仕事してるんだけど、彼らの会話を聞いていたら面白いときがある。

アレックは結構、機嫌がアップダウンするほうらしく、差が激しい。
電話ごしに議論してるような時があるけど、それはフランス語とかイタリア語とかドイツ語とか喋ってるからそう聞こえるだけなのかも…

今日そんなアレックの対応にもう慣れているディリアが、外から電話してきたアレックにこう言っていた。

"Your sound behind is unbearable! so i am not going to read 5 pages to you now."

何のことかはわからないけどとにかくアレックが超耳障りな音がする外のどこかにいて、何かを聞いていたんだけどディリアはそれをきっぱりと断ったってこと。

This is what I think the difference of NY and Japan.


Every single shop you walk in, do you say "hello" to saler? Yes in NYC or in foreign country. Open the door, "Hi, how are you?" is the common sense for them, to let them know you are a customer and not the suspicious shopper.


Greeting at shop you go include convenience store, department store and every kind of shop is not custom for Japanese, of course you would say hi at legester but not necessary. Less conversation with stranger in Japan.


You hear "Irasshaimase" : "welcome to our shop" at Japanese shop, this not mean "hello, how are you?" that's why no need to respond to this greetings. Just give them smile as a respond.

At 10pm, watching TV feel like sweets and here it comes, LITTLE CUPCAKE time. On the corner of Nolita area 30 prince street, fabulous cake shop is open until 11pm.


It's crazy people come here to get some suger even late night, but really good idea to spend time at this cutest ans sweetest shop with girly taste atmosphere for put some color on your boring night time.

Girls working here wear pink T and trianglar bandage would serve you really nicely and you see my favorite girl on top right picture. Manager, you are right to hire this person.

NYのゴミ箱


いたって普通。こっちは日本みたいに街中　角ごとにゴミ箱が置いてあるのとは違ってゴミ箱も少なく、飲み物の缶とか紙とかタバコとかが散乱してるんだろうと思いきや結構いっぱいこのゴミ箱がある。しかもちゃんときれいに白いゴミ袋がかぶせてあって、ふたがあるものもあるし日本と同じくらいなのかも。


でもタバコのポイ捨ては日本のほうが絶対行儀が良いと思う。


悪気もなくみんなタバコをポイポイ道に捨ててるのをよく見る。

思い出した。インターンシップのことの続き。


毎日のように見ていたサイト。"Free Fashion Internships" NYでのインターン先を決めるためにまず応募する会社を探す。日本にいながらでもネットは全世界つながっているのでこういう時にすごく役に立つ。


外国のサイトなので全てもちろん英語だけど、会社名、連絡先、募集要項ぐらいにまとめられてるのですごく見やすいしちゃんと会社のリンクなんかもはってくれてる。


あたしはPRにしぼっていたのでページの左下にあるQUICK LINKのFashion PR Internshipってとこ限定で見ていた。
毎日更新されて、その量も丁度良いくらい。多くもなく少なくもなく


ここで見つけた興味のある会社に前に紹介したcover letterとResumeを結構送った。
その中の一つが今あたしがインターンとして働いているNouveau-PRってゆうファッションPRの会社。

hard to walk

ちょくちょくこんな道がある。ヨーロッパにありそうな石畳の道。

NYだからって最先端行ってるわけじゃないみたい。

道路はあんまりちゃんと舗装されてないところが多い。

特にこの石畳は歩きにくい、この写真の道はまだましだけど石と石の隙間にコンクリートが入ってなくてあり得ないくらいでこぼこの場所もある。

ヒールとか履いてたら高い確率ではまりまくる。

アパート、会社、お店もビルの中にあるなら鍵がかけられたドアの中にあるから玄関にあるこの扉の前のボタンを押す。

日本でもマンションの玄関を一回のロビーみたいなとこでピンポーンって押して玄関が初めて開くみたいな感じのものがNYではこれ。

けど、時々そのビーって音の間にドアを自分で開けなかったらまたすぐに閉まってしまうドアがある。から気をつけて

ブライアントパーク

年2回2月と9月にあるNYファッションウィークの会場。

毎年毎回ここであるのかどうかはさだかではないけど、この広場にあのテントが張られて業界人、セレブ、blogger、カメラマン、モデルとその他いろんな人が集まる。

ちょうどあたしのインターンシップが始まったのが3月中旬だから2月のこのイベントに参加することはできなかったけど、うちの会社のそのころインターンをしていた子達は当然参加したみたい。

もちろん担当ブランドのファッションショーの運営だけど、ちゃんとランウェィの横にある席に座らせてもらったりバーティーに参加したり…いいな〜

普通に何もない感じをみると、おとなしい公園って感じだけどやっばりファッションウィークの時期は相当騒がしく、熱気にあふれて世界で一番注目される場所になるんだろうな。

I hate this. I seriously hate this food in the airplane.
I eat this cuz i don't have anything else to eat and it's just because they have fruit.
But really, how come airplane food taste this bad.

I am not being exaggerate, thinking that I eat airplane food makes me feel sick and they remind me of terrible memory from my first airplane ride. I was almost dead from being airplane sick, i had been puked for 4 days couldn't eat anything, bathroom was my friend.

Green and tree on park as well as small animals.


It's wilder thing happening here than Japanese park, supposed to be ordinary creature in a park this little dude squirrel is so cute to have for me. I will spend at least 10mins just looking at squirrel move in front of cage if we have them at a zoo.


Most of us; travelers want to feed them and see how cute they are but people here treat squirrel as same as pigeon, they really don't care.


I heard squirrel could hurt you. They bite you and in the worst case, you get rabies.

URBAN OUTFITTERS

アーバンアウトフィッターズはH&MでもFoever21でもTop shopでもnecessary clothingでもそのほかの似た感じのショップでも見つけられないような高くないけど安くもない、そこまで質は良くないけど悪くもない程度の洋服を探すのにいい。しかも本とか雑貨、アートとか下着や靴まで売っててそういう商品は普段店であんまり見つけないようなちょっと変わったものが多い。

そこで映画のJUNOで主人公が使っていたハンバーガー電話を見つけた。

これはおもちゃじゃなく本当に使えるよ。

CON ARTIST

家から歩いて5分くらいのとこにあるLOWER EAST SIDEの毎週金曜日にイベントをやってる結構ローカルな場所。。。CON ARTIST

アーティスト達(自称でも全然OKな感じ)がこのグループみたなのに登録というか参加してて、自分の作品を展示したり、売ったりもかな…できるスペース。

場所は写真にあるように、地下スペース。一見物置部屋みたいな感じだけどNYはこういう感じの地下スペースがたくさんあるので珍しくはないはず。

入るとすぐに服とかアートとかアクセサリーとかを売ってる店(この商品は多分アーティストたち作)があって、扉をくぐるとその奥にもう一つ展示スペースがある。

手作り感丸出しな感じで雰囲気満点。

ちなみにあたしが行ったのはあるアーティストのオープニング(展示が明日から始まるからその前日パーティ)で、ワインやビールが振る舞われました。

だいたいみんな気さくに話かけてきてくれたりして、「あなたはアーティスト?」って良く聞かれた。

This place would be my heavy rotation to go for sure.

Not affordably cheap price but you will never seen this kinds of tons of products at same time in anywhere else, talking about design ; they are almost an art.

my fav : Crop sweater with dolman sleeves and ribbed neck, hem and sleeve cuff. One side is red and the other side is pink. 16" long. Wool blend.
